Welcome to our Legacy.

Today, the distinctive coaches of Maynes can be seen hard at work, both in the United Kingdom and abroad, many miles beyond their home base here in Buckie. The company beginnings however were considerably more localised and at a somewhat slower pace.

The coach operating business was established by James Mayne in 1947 following two years’ operating a local taxi, car and limousine hire business. For prestige occasions the fleet included a Rolls Royce. Having assessed there was sufficient local demand to justify expanding into the coach business, the first Maynes coach was purchased in 1947.

Maynes Legacy has been formed, to offer an unrivalled experience to our clients but to pay homage and respect to those that have gone before us and laid a road our company now follows, we are extremely proud of our history as a fifth generation family company, the gratitude to our previous generations plays a huge part to what drives us forward each day.

In January 2023 we launched ‘Maynes Legacy’, a bespoke Obsidian Black fleet of smaller sized vehicles and several new additions to the fleet.

The Legacy fleet will have two new Irizar I6 10.8m 35 seat coaches complete with 3 tables & full facilities and also two new Mercedes V Class 7 seat MPV’s coming to join us along with our existing 9 and 16 seat VIP coaches and selection of new black luxury Mercedes cars that we already have also added to the fleet.

Scheduled to arrive in spring 2023 the Legacy fleet will expand to include two new 11 seat Mercedes VIP coaches arriving and a new 16 seat VIP midi coach.

Maynes Coaches lead by example and are currently the only Scottish members of The Guild of British Coach Operators, are accredited by Coach Marque and are members of The Confederation of Passenger Transport and UKCOA.
