Let's go!

Maynes Coaches was presented with the Armed Forces Covenant and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award on 23 February.

Highland RFCA’s Defence Relationship Manager Ray Watt presented both certificates at the organisation’s home base in Buckie. Company Director Kevin Mayne is pictured holding the Bronze Award certificate, with Rebecca Mayne holding the Armed Forces Covenant.

Established in 1947, Maynes Coaches is an award-winning, family-run coach company. It offers luxury transport for all occasions from bespoke tours to sporting events – with drivers working from depots in Buckie, Elgin and Orkney.

Maynes Coaches first signed the Armed Forces Covenant in December 2025. By signing the Covenant, it has become one of 14,000+ organisations across the UK to pledge support to the Armed Forces community.

Its commitment to honouring the Covenant includes pledges to:

  • Promote the Armed Forces.
  • Offer employment support to members of the Armed Forces community.
  • Take part in communications, engagement and outreach.
  • Promote relevant employment schemes aimed at the Armed Forces community.
  • Safely carry out transport requirements at the discretion of the Armed Forces community.
  • Engage with the Career Transition Partnership when there is an opportunity.
  • Deliver training to the Maynes Coaches team relevant to supporting the Armed Forces community.
  • Support Armed Forces events where possible.

Maynes Coaches also received the ERS Bronze Award. The ERS Awards encourage employers to support Defence and inspire others to do the same. The prestigious Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Kevin Mayne said: “Maynes Coaches have a long-standing history of working with the Armed Forces and are proud to have a number of ex-Forces personnel within our team now and in the past. We are proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and to be in receipt of the Bronze Award and we look forward to continuing to work with the team and move forward in supporting the Armed Forces community and their families. The Armed Forces Covenant is a great initiative to be involved in and we would encourage everyone who can to look into the scheme.”
