Let's go!
Maynes are delighted to share we have been awarded π—šπ—’π—Ÿπ—— at the Maintenance Provision Rating Scheme (MPRS) Scheme and also been awarded the ITRE Workshop accreditation in April during an internal audit of our workshop here in Buckie πŸ†βοΈ
Maynes passed a series of inspections to achieve IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers) accreditations for our workshop; our entire workshop engineering team also achieved their ITREC accreditation over the last few years too. We welcome beinginvolved in MPRS as we believe it is important for the commercial vehicle industry to be setting new standards and that being accredited within these schemes is incredibly beneficial for our company. These benefits include being able to demonstrate our longstanding commitment to quality and professionalism and enhance our company credibility to our clients and industry partners. These accreditations are a benchmark indicator of the standards that we have upheld for five generations of our family business.
To achieve IRTE Workshop Accreditation, applicants have their road transport workshop audited by a trained examiner; those that pass show they are following best practice. The Maynes workshop team have also all received their IRTEC licences, which validate their competence in maintaining the wide range of commercial vehicles used in delivering our internal and external workshop services.
IRTE Workshop Accreditation is an independent review of your procedures and practice; it involves an audit by one of SOE’s approved auditors. This highlights best practice compliance in areas such as premises, equipment, technical staff, management, clerical staff, documentation, quality, and appearance. The IRTE Workshop Accreditation is valid for three years then needs to be renewed and we plan to move forward upholding this accreditation for many renewals to come.
With MPRS, the commercial vehicle maintenance sector plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of transportation networks worldwide. The Maintenance Provision Rating Scheme is brought to you by the unity of organisations with the primary goal of improving industry standards and professional practices in commercial vehicle maintenance. This has increased the standards in commercial vehicle workshop compliance to new levels. Backed by the Senior Traffic Commissioners and government bodies, MPRS is the next generation of compliance in commercial vehicle workshop accreditation and will reform current best practices in line with future needs and expectations of the industry. Endorsed by the sector, an MPRS rating reflects the competency of a workshop’s facilities and technical expertise. The higher the rating, the greater the confidence operators should have in their competences.
Achieving the Gold standard for MPRS and our IRTE Workshop accreditation follows on from our successful renewal audit for the DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme, of which we achieved in February of this year also. During our DVSA ER audit we also sat the DVSA ER PSV Private Hire module which continued our two decade long membership of The Guild of British Coach Operators. What a year for Team Mayne!
In 2024 Maynes became the first privately owned Scottish coach operator to achieve DVSA ER accreditation and at present we are still the only privately owned Scottish operator approved within the scheme.
We are extremely proud of every member of our team who all work at an incredibly high standard, excel within the guidelines of such prestigious industry schemes and uphold the high quality and standards expected of a Guild member operator.
In 2027 we will be celebrating our 80th anniversary and it’s safe to say we have both the experience and the credentials behind us. We are proud to be β€˜The Name to Trust in Travel Since 1947’. πŸ’™
