Kevin takes over the CPT driving seat
Maynes Coaches Director, Kevin Mayne, has recently become Chairman of the C.P.T. Scotland Coach Commission, after being elected Vice Chairman in 2009 Kevin was nominated and elected Chairman at the trade bodies AGM on the 9th February. Though not an Honours Role, the Chairman keeps the voice of Scottish Coach Operators heard throughout the Country and ensures that all Scottish coaching matters are highlighted in London.
CPT is the Trade Body for coach, bus and light rail industries in the UK and is recognised by government as the voice of the Industry.
Kevin hopes to influence, inform and enhance the use of the Coach Industry in Scotland during his time as Chairman. Kevin also has an excellent team behind him in Edinburgh and hopes to bring all coach operators together through meetings and help operators and the Association grow stronger together in the times ahead.
Route One Award Nominations
Maynes Coaches are pleased to announce that we are again nominated for 2 awards
- Coach Operator and Operator Training - at the Route One Operator Excellence
Awards. This follows up our long record of awards received from the coach
industry.
The route one awards follows a set format where the judging panel of industry
experts draw up a shortlist of independent nominated operators to find a potential
winner in each category. We await the results at the awards ceremony
in Birmingham during November - another proud moment in our history.
Maynes invest in fuel savings
Maynes Coaches have upgraded our fuel management systems to add the new Triscan odyssey software system to our operations. Being able to monitor and control our fuel usage is important in these economic and environmentally crucial times. With odyssey along with our GPS tracking systems we hope to reduce the fuel usage due to unnecessary idle times as well as monitor vehicle fuel usage to maximize vehicle mpg.
Maynes invest again to fleet for 2010
Maynes have again made a huge investment into our coaching fleet for the 2010
season. Adding seven new coaches to our fleet, six Neoplan MAN and 1
Plaxton MAN, as well as a new Mercedes Plaxton Cheetah has ensured that our
fleet makes the grade in 2010
The 1.5 million pound investment shows our Company's continued commitment to
providing a quality service to all our clients. With new ideas brought
into our fleet profile like satellite TV and leather seats to our new V.I.P
class coaches, these coaches will ensure that you travel in a comfort second

Driver CPC training finds no barrier at Maynes
Maynes Coaches have launched Maynes Training to ensure that all our driving
team meets the drivers CPC requirements head on. Also the new expansion from
our Company will help the needs of other transport company's and drivers too.
Training is not something strange to our Company and the driver CPC is something
we have done in-house for two years now, so we are fully experienced in delivering
CPC courses to all our driving team.

Maynes assist Conservative Party on route to Number 10
Just days after the General Election date was announced Maynes were called
into action by the Conservative party to transport their Election team on a
visit to Aberdeen.
Driven by Managing Director Gordon Mayne, in one of our 2 day old Neoplan V.I.P
class coaches, their team visited sites in the Aberdeen area to gain support
for them in the upcoming Election.
Assisting sole UK Conservative battle bus provider the Kings Ferry, Maynes
retraced steps taken by the company many years ago to transport the then party
leader, Margaret Thatcher, on her tour of the UK before becoming the UK Prime
Minister when she visited Moray.
Maynes meet needs of Royal Appointment
Maynes executive hire vehicles were called upon to meet the needs of world renowned whisky distillers Chivas Brothers when HRH Prince Charles came to Moray to open the extension to The Glenlivet Distillery. Seven V.I.P coaches and four cars were on call to transport guests and dignitary's to the event which lasted over 4 days, involving 250 guests and international press requiring bespoke transport to many locations within the north of Scotland. On arrival at the distillery HRH Prince Charles stopped to comment on the smart appearance of our driving team, the sign of Royal approval!!
